Back on July 4 we started a caustic lunar month that promised to show us our fears, our shadows, and the parts of ourselves that we’d rather not look at. Falling opposite Pluto, the new moon said that over the coming four weeks we’d be doing a lot of soul searching. The new moon did not lie.

For me, the last two weeks have been powerful as I’ve had to face some difficult truths within myself. But I welcomed it as the insights have been priceless. Also, in true 8th House/Pluto fashion, I’ve also had to deal with a death that I knew was coming for a while.

I say all this because the next few days will be the crescendo to this lunar month. We have a tense square off between the Sun and Uranus, which speaks to sudden disruptions, breakdowns, breakthroughs, and deafening insights. Uranus’s function in astrology is to shock us out of the old, to inspire new consciousness. The energy is tough on the nervous system and emotional body, too. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself.

Then on Tuesday we have the Capricorn Full Moon. If the new moon began a story, then the full moon is the moment when the narrative demands our attention, our choice. The full moon is a revelation. More on that next week.
