Ever since Mars crossed into Libra on November 12, we’ve been in the build up to a couple of tense astrological aspects. Mars is action, it’s a spark not unlike a catalyst. Libra is a cardinal sign. It lines up with the four directions; it initiates the start of a new season as well as change. Libra is relationships, balance, and harmony. But the reality is that Mars in Libra can sometimes be anything but peaceful.

From December 6–10, Mars will activate Pluto and Uranus, dual forces of intense evolutionary transformation. Pluto and Uranus will say, often poignantly, that something in our life has to change; it’s non negotiable. Pluto and Uranus can feel like the tide of fate pulling at different facets of our lives — our job, our relationships, our health, and even down to the core of who we are.

Back in March, when Uranus and Pluto made their last official square, I discussed what these evolutionary forces have meant for us in this post. Technically we’re done with the squares. But think of December 25, when Uranus stations direct in orb to Pluto, as the unofficial 8th square.

This is a month to really take care of yourself as well as be conscious of the people, patterns, and things that have outlived their usefulness. If there is something stubborn in your life, direct the energy of Uranus and Pluto to shape and heal it.
